Matthew 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Featuring a hand-drawn design by our little artist Phoebe Foong, these T-shirts take inspiration from Jesus’ words to his disciples in Matthew 5:13-16.
As believers, we are called to be salt to a dying world - besides adding flavour, salt also has anti-bacterial and preservative properties. We are to add Kingdom distinctiveness to our circles of influence, whilst rooting out worldly attitudes and values.
We are also called to be light; to shine the light of God’s love in a darkened world. Through our acts of kindness and through our words of encouragement, we show God the Father to people around us.
This exclusive t-shirt is not just a reminder of Jesus’ commands to us, but also a declaration of our desire to truly be doers of God’s word, not merely hearers.
“I want to be salt! I want to be light!” Let that be our prayer each and every day.
