October Devo Guides ALL out now!

Collection: 2025 Family Devotional Guides: I Have A Question!

We often think that faith is about simply trusting God and ignoring our doubts. However, when we don’t find answers to our questions, these doubts can end up wearing our faith thin and causing us to trust God less. That’s why asking questions is a vital part of faith, because it helps us to learn more about who God is and why we worship Him. When we seek the right answers to our questions, we can build a solid foundation of faith that will carry us through life’s challenges!

Join us on this 12-month journey nurturing a faith in Christ that grows stronger each day!

Keep Asking, Keep Growing

  • because every question asked and every answer found brings us closer to the God who made us; saved us; and never stops loving us.

October: If God already knows everything, why should I pray?

Anchoring Bible Verse: Philippians 4:6 – "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Let’s be honest: this is a question many of us—kids, teens, and even adults—have asked. If God already knows what’s happening now and what will happen next, what’s the point of telling Him? Can we even make God change His mind? See, prayer isn’t about giving God information (old or “new”). Instead, prayer is about building a relationship with Him. It’s talking with our Heavenly Father, trusting Him with our worries, listening for His voice, and drawing closer to His heart! Prayer doesn’t change the fact that God is all-knowing; rather, it changes us—shaping us to depend more on Him.

This month, we’ll explore why prayer matters and how it shapes our daily lives as followers of Jesus. Together, we’ll discover that prayer is not a ritual or a checklist, but a gift that brings us into God’s presence. Join us over the next 4 weeks as we explore what prayer really is, why it matters, and how it draws us closer to the God who loves us.

September: If God is good, why does He allow bad things to happen?

Romans 8:28 – "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

When bad things happen, like sickness, accidents, heartbreak, or even injustice, it’s natural to wonder: If God is good, why does He allow these things? This is one of the hardest questions we can ask as believers. But the Bible doesn’t ignore our pain. Instead, it gives us a deeper, more hopeful picture: that God is not distant from our suffering, and He is never caught off guard. Even when life feels out of control, God is still present, still good, and still working behind the scenes for our good and His glory.

This month, we’ll explore what Scripture says about God’s presence in suffering, His bigger plan for our lives, His deep understanding of our pain, and the unshakable truth of His goodness. These truths won’t answer every question, but they will give us courage, comfort, and clarity when we walk through hard times. Join us over the next 4 weeks as we discover how God remains good—even when life is not.

August: Is the Bible like a textbook for Christians? Why should I read it?

Isaiah 40:8 - “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

The Bible is not just another book on the shelf. It’s not like a school textbook that becomes outdated or a storybook you finish and forget. The Bible is God’s living Word—it tells us who He is, what He has done, and how we can live in a way that pleases Him. While our world changes constantly, God’s Word never changes. Its truth is as real and powerful today as it was thousands of years ago.

Over the next month, we’ll discover why the Bible is so important for every follower of Jesus. We’ll explore how it helps us know God, shapes the way we live, strengthens our faith, and equips us to face life’s challenges. Whether you’ve read the Bible for years or are just starting out, you’ll see that it’s not simply information for our heads—it’s truth for our hearts. Join us over the next 4 weeks as we explore why the Bible is more than a textbook, and why reading it changes everything.

June: Why should I forgive someone who hurt me?

Ephesians 4:32 – "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Forgiveness is one of the most powerful and challenging parts of following Jesus. When someone hurts us, the natural response is often anger, distance, or even the desire to get even. But the Bible calls us to a different way—a way of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, modeled after the love Jesus has shown us. Ephesians 4:32 reminds us that forgiveness is not just a good idea; it's a reflection of the gospel. We forgive not because others always deserve it, but because we have been deeply and undeservedly forgiven by God.

This month, we’ll explore how forgiveness brings healing to our hearts, creates peace in our relationships, and helps us grow to be more like Jesus. Through Scripture, real-life stories, and practical reflection, families will discover that forgiveness is not just something we do for others—it’s a gift we give ourselves, and a step of obedience that draws us closer to God's heart. Join us this month as we explore what it means to forgive someone who hurt us—and why it's worth it.

May: Does God really speak to us? How can I hear His voice?

What does God’s voice sound like? Does He speak out loud? If He does, will He be so loud that my eardrums burst? And most importantly, how do I really know if it’s really God speaking, and not my own brain imagining things? 🥴

We know from the Bible that God is a speaking God - He is always speaking to His people. And sometimes, He does speak in a voice that can be heard! Ultimately, God speaks in different ways to different people.

This month, let’s look into God’s word to explore just some of the different ways that God speaks to us—through the Bible, through prayer, through other people, and even through creation. We’ll learn how to listen, how to recognize His voice, and most importantly, how to respond with faith, in obedience! 🙏🏻

April

For many of us, the idea of death can cause us to feel sad or anxious. We’re sad because we miss the people that have passed away, whom we still think about and love very much. And we feel anxious because we’re unsure—what happens after we die? Even though, as Christians, we know that we get to go to heaven, we might still wonder—what does heaven look like? And what would it like to go to heaven?

Over the course of the next few weeks, let’s look into God’s word to get a glimpse of what heaven looks like, and why, as Christians, death is not something we have to be afraid of, or even feel too sad about! And as we learn more about what it means to have eternal life with God, we can be even more confident of the hope that we have in Jesus.

March

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be diving in to God’s word to fully understand why Jesus had to die, and how that’s actually really Good News for all of us. As we get ready to remember Jesus’ sacrifice on Good Friday, finding the answers to these questions will not only help us grow in our faith - they’ll help us to be even more thankful for the gift of forgiveness and eternal life that we have because of what Jesus has done!

February

1 John 4:16 – "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love."

February is often a month associated with the celebration of love—after all, Valentine’s Day is celebrated on 14 February every year. (Side note: was there a real, historical person called St. Valentine, and what does he have to do with Valentine’s Day? That’s another question for another day!) On this day, people buy flowers and gifts to express their love for their spouses and romantic partners—very lovey-dovey indeed 🥰

Thankfully, God’s love is not like human love—limited to just one day, or to just one person! His amazing love is for the whole world (John 3:16) and is available to everyone, everywhere and every day. In fact, this month’s theme verse tells us that God doesn’t just love us—He IS love! That means God doesn’t just show us love, He is the very definition of love. There is no better way to describe perfect, unchanging love than by pointing to Him!

But what does that mean for us? What about the times when we don’t feel very loved at all, or when we’re going through a difficult situation. How can we know for sure that God really loves us, especially when we don’t feel or see it? Let’s dive into this great question together this month!
