Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” - 1 Samuel 7:12 NKJV
As we celebrate TTB turning 4 this August, our hearts are simply filled with awe and gratitude to the Lord for how He has seen us through. Our story is an improbable one - two civil servants saying “yes” to God, leaving behind a life of stability and comfort for an adventure into the great unknown.
“Thus far the Lord has helped us” is not just our way of giving thanks to God for leading, guiding, protecting and providing for us over the past 4 years. It is, just like Samuel’s act of setting up a physical stone, an important reminder to us going forward that our help comes from God and God alone - that He will continue to lead, guide, protect and provide for us in the years to come.
When we approached local illustrator Elena Yeo (@ellustrate), whom we have met when we serve at TACMC, we shared with her the Word that God has placed on our heart. Elvin had a vision of an image which turned out to be almost exactly what Elena had drawn!
We hope that this totebag will not just be one that's effectively functional but one that declares and assures you that God's help is near. He is with us.
